Business Networking Event: Safe Operations in Low-Level Airspace, sponsored by Fenix UAS
On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, the first of hopefully many more AIANZ/UAVNZ Business Networking Events took place at Manfeild, offering a unique opportunity for industry professionals to connect and exchange ideas. The event featured expert speakers who shared valuable insights into key areas of the UAV sector.

Bruce Peterson (MD of Aerospread Technologies and Chair of NZAAA) spoke about the importance of awareness around manned operations in low-level airspace, highlighting how UAV operators can develop a better understanding of these operations and improve their ability to integrate safely into shared airspace. He emphasised the need for collaboration and situational awareness to enhance safety for all airspace users.
Dr Andrew Shelly from Fenix UAS provided a demonstration of Flight Advisor, showcasing its capabilities as a crucial tool for deconfliction among all flying operators in low-level, uncontrolled airspace. He explained how the platform helps improve situational awareness, reduces conflict risk, and supports safer operations for both manned and unmanned aircraft.
